The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released an Addiction Recovery website.
- Help for individuals trying to overcome addictions with alcohol, drugs, pornography, sex, and other kinds of addictions
- Information for family, friends, and Church leaders on how to support loved ones
- Information about the Church’s Addiction Recovery Program
- Addiction Recovery meeting times and addresses
- Addiction Recovery Manual (free download as a PDF)
Subsequent releases of the website will include additional resources and powerful stories of healing and recovery.
Addictions are the source of so much pain for thousands of people. It is awesome to know that recovery is possible and that the other side of addiction is a beautiful place.

Any idea when they’ll have the family support manual available for download/purchase?
Michelle, the Family Support Manual along with Healing Through Christ and the Addiction Recovery Program guides in various languages will soon be available on the website arp.lds.org. I don’t have a specific date as to when these resources will be available.

Handbook of family support or victims in the French language does not yet exist. According ldswebguy the release date is not confirmed. Here in Europe, to support groups in French, we use the guide ARP / PTD but it lacks the manual to support the family. What we do in the meantime, it is the translation of one page guide to support families as there is a strong demand from families. In fact, the program ARP / PTD is so important that it becomes necessary to accompany the program for families. Please …! accelerate the translation of this guide … thank you with all my heart

Gaggini, the Addiction Recovery Guide is available in French. You can order it at http://store.lds.org/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product3_715839595_10557_21001_-1__195606
As of yet no family support materials separate from the original 12 step program have been released. As the spouse of an addict I felt like there should be something in the beginning. It was frustrating to keep reading “your addiction” in the materials. However as time went on I came to find the value in the program as it is. There are many helps out there that will teach about the mechanics of addiction, but this program leads you through complete and thorough spiritual recovery. I am grateful that no changes have been made to this point. I do think that there would be value in providing some sort of “triage kit” for those spouses coming for the first time. Something that would provide materials that speak directly to the spouse and family members of addicts. I love the program. I am so grateful for it.
