A new feature in the Church’s account manager lets parents manage their children’s online accounts, including creating accounts, resetting passwords, and deleting accounts that are no longer needed.
The new feature automatically appears in a parent’s Church account screen for any unmarried children under the age of 18 living in the same household.
This new feature may be used to solve problems with children’s accounts. For example,
- Some Latter-day Saint children first create a Church account as part of a Primary or youth activity and they may not write down the username or password.
- Later, when they try to use their Church account for seminary or to submit a missionary application, they try to create a new account, but that isn’t an option because a Membership Record Number can only be used for a single Church account.
Parents can now resolve these kinds of problems for their unmarried children under the age of 18 in the same household. Other options include the Account Recovery feature and calling the Church’s Global Service Department.
