Beginning July 15, 2013, the Personal Ancestral File (PAF) software will be retired and will no longer be available for download or support.
PAF began in 1984 and since that time, over 3.2 million copies have been distributed. It filled an important need and helped bridge from the completely paper world of genealogy to the modern online, collaborative world of FamilySearch.org, with its new Family Tree in multiple languages.
If you still need offline software to use when not connected to FamilySearch.org, you should consider some of these alternative products. FamilySearch has been working with these companies to support connectivity with the Family Tree.
I am so disappointed to hear of this. i had used many different programs and i found that your program was the best around, and free also. If you had the program as a ‘for sale’ product, i would end up choosing it over the others. So sorry to hear of this, thanks for the years of giving your product for free.
David,
You can use the replacement, which is the online FamilySearch.org. It’s also free.
