teacher-council-meetings

The General Handbook 13.5 instructs that the ward Sunday School Presidency may help parents improve as teachers in the home. “The ward council may organize teacher council meetings for parents to help them improve gospel teaching in the home. Like other teacher council meetings, these are held during the 50-minute class time on Sunday. Teaching in the Savior’s Way is the main resource for these meetings.”

As Brother Jan E. Newman, second counselor in the Sunday School general presidency, explained in the October 2023 general conference while speaking about the sacred roles of parents, “You may feel a bit inadequate in this role, but you should never feel alone. … [During teacher council meetings for parents], parents can gather to learn from each other’s experiences, discuss how they are strengthening their families, and learn key principles of Christlike teaching.”
