The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued the following statement:
Construction techniques have advanced to the point that cornerstones are no longer included in large buildings. Therefore, temple cornerstone ceremonies will no longer be part of temple dedications.
I guess I think the cornerstone ceremony was kind of a nice tradition, but I was also wondering if, with the ever increasing number of temples being built, it was just becoming too cumbersome to include?
I am wondering if there might yet be some temples that will still have such a ceremony — say like for the temple (when ever it might be built) at Far West, or Independance Missouri, Maybe Spring Hill?
