The Church has issued the following letter regarding garments for endowed members serving as law enforcement officers, firefighters, or in the military:
When possible, endowed members in military service should wear the garment the same as any other member (General Handbook, 38.9.8). Those serving as law enforcement officers, firefighters, or in the military often have specific uniform requirements of various colors and styles, including associated undergarments. To better meet the needs of uniform requirements, the Church will now provide undergarment marking services free of charge through Beehive Clothing. The previously produced military garments will no longer be available through Distribution Services.
Those who are eligible for this marking service include:
- All branches of the U.S. military
- Firefighters
- Local, county, state, and federal law enforcement officers.
- Other equivalent organizations outside the U.S.
Required undergarments approved by the organizations listed above should be purchased by the member through approved channels. Eligible members may refer to the Garment Marking Order Form for additional information and instructions.
Here is the link to the notice sent to stake and ward leaders.
I hope someday those of us with medical issues may use iron marks with our clothing. Some cannot wear there entire garment as now designed due to the complications of fit and function and wear half of the garment as best we are able to.
