The Church has asked ward and stake leaders to improve the spiritual feeling in the foyers and entryways of meetinghouses in an effort to create a deeper reverence for the Lord Jesus Christ. This effort supports President Russell M. Nelson’s call over the past 18 months to emphasize that “Jesus Christ is at the center of His Church.”
Leaders and facilities managers will work together to do the following:
- Upgrade the art in the foyers to provide visual displays of our reverence for our Savior Jesus Christ.
- Evaluate existing furnishings, artwork, and finishes. Replace and update as needed.
- Remove distractions from the foyer, such as display cases, bulletin boards, tables, easels, and damaged furniture.

I believe that this will improve our reverence and respect for the house of the Lord. As we focus more on the Saviors life we will have more opportunities to draw closer to him. I’m grateful for this inspiration from the Saviors leaders. I’m grateful for my membership in his church and hope that I can be a strong example of the Savior to help gather Israel.
