The Church has opened its first interactive Family Discovery Center at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Temple Square. It uses huge screens, iPads, and innovative technology to help you learn about your ancestors in new and fun ways.
Below is a video showing the interactive features in the center:
Visitors use a customized iPad to interface with large-as-life interactive displays at 7 stations to learn about themselves and where their family came from, how they lived, and even how they may have dressed.
This Family Discovery Center is a prototype for new experiences that can be offered online and in other family history centers throughout the world.
If you live near Salt Lake City, you are invited to visit the Family Discovery Center. Visits last about an hour and are free. The center is open Monday through Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome, but online registration is recommended, especially for family or youth groups.
