David,
Thanks for catching that. I’ve update the post with the new link.
Larry
When I was a new convert, I was confused by slang like this. For a year, I thought “the Brethren” were the sons of King Mosiah. I was a very confused puppy for quite a while.
Thomas S. Monson, Henry B. Eyring, Deter F. Uchtdorf, as First Presidency.
Boyd K. Packer, L. Tom Perry, Russel M. Nelson, Dallin H. Oaks, M. Russell Ballard, Richard G. scott, Robert D. Hales, Jeffrey R. Holland, David A. Bednar, Quentin L. Cook, D. Todd Christofferson, Neil L. Andersen as the Twelve Apostles.
I think it’s better to refer to them as the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. “The Brethren” is certainly not an official term. We are all brothers and sisters, not only the leadership of the church. Brethren is a word that is confusing to many new members of the church because it is not used in modern English.
It doesn’t matter what they’re called, the “Brethren” is shorter than the “First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles”. So, why not relax and call them the General Authorities, the “Church Leadership” or whatever you would like? It’s always been important to me to know their names but how many can you recognize from hearing their voice?
GREAT Quiz
Thanks
