The new changes we told you about for Mormon.org launched today!
One of the key features of the new Mormon.org site is the personal participation and stories of thousands of Mormons who have completed profiles about themselves in their own words.
2,000 members have completed profiles that explain why they live their faith and why they are a Mormon. 13,000 more are in process, and that number is expected to eventually jump to 100,000 as the Church continues to ask its members to share their faith online. Learn how to create your own profile on Mormon.org to participate in this historic event.
Brother Richman, the website has a frustrating flaw. When I select a group of people to view from the drop down boxes and then go and read a profile, the website throws you out of the list when you hit the back button.
Please go and try it and see if I am missing something. Go to “our people” and conduct a search by just choosing “europe”. Sort it by list instead of collage. Then choose a profile and read through it. After you are finished hit the back button on your browser and see what happens. It does not take you back to the list so you can see other profiles. It forces you to begin the search all over again.
That is very frustrating.
This is a beautiful site! =D
I wish there were some sort of RSS feed so I can see the new profiles with videos when they come out. Those were awesome. I watched them all!
Where are the videos? And how does that work?
Update: Found a profile with a video associated with it. From Alex Boye’.

The whole concept is exciting, Things we know now about this were not obvious when the member profiles were first announced and the word went out to members to sign up and put one on the site, but in our daily lives we may not be on the Internet all the time when we are interacting with people, is there going to be a way to share our profiles with people we just meet on the street and talk to about the Church? These are going to have very significant impacts for good once we get even more people on than the news release projects.
I just wanted to point out, and perhaps this could be passed along, that the other languages (non-English) are in severe need of updating. Most languages are still on v1 (or is it v2) with the tan background and it appears the CSS is missing for hyperlinks. If there aren’t enough resources to convert them, perhaps a temporary fix would be to restore the CSS so they look professional.
I just read that there are 75 more video profiles ready to go up! That’s incredible. How are we gonna be notified when they come out? RSS please!?
I am one of those 13,000 who finally finished my profile:

For some reason I thought you had to answer every one of the FAQs or Personal Stories first before it would post. If anybody else is holding back, you only need to answer one quesiton in each area. This is a really cool idea. I hope more people add profiles.
