As part of the Salt Lake Temple Celebration Toolkit, the Church has shared a list of events and key milestones. The timeline below highlights significant events and experiences connected to the Salt Lake Temple Celebration.
April 13, 2026
- Temple Square Visitors’ Center. This new Visitors’ Center in Salt Lake City invites guests to explore why temples matter in God’s plan. Find exhibits, enjoy art, and walk through the Inside a Temple Tour.
- Temple Square App. A lite version of the Temple Square App is available for download from all app stores. This version provides Temple Square information and reservations for the Inside a Temple Tour at the Visitors’ Center.
June 15, 2026
- Volunteer Applications Open for Salt Lake City. People who wish to be part of The Rejoice Team at Temple Square are invited to apply at templesquare.org.
Fall 2026
- New Gospel Library Section. Members can find information and resources about the Salt Lake Temple Celebration in the Gospel Library.
September 1, 2026
- Temple Square App. The Temple Square app will help guests going to Salt Lake City plan celebration visits and reserve tickets. If members and friends near you are able to visit in person, invite them to download the app and make ticket reservations. This full version of the app is available for download in all app stores.
- Salt Lake Temple Open House Reservations Open. People visiting Salt Lake City during the celebration can reserve a timed ticket for open house tours in 2027. Early reservations are encouraged.
- Volunteer Assignments Made. Volunteer applicants will be notified of The Rejoice Team roles and assignments on Temple Square.
October 2026
- Dedicate Video Series. Follow young adults from several countries as they discover how temples point them to Jesus Christ, strengthen their promises to Him, and open the doors to a firsthand tour of the renovated Salt Lake Temple. To be released after October 2026 general conference, these videos can be an engaging resource, especially for youth and young adults. You might encourage their use in devotionals, ward activities, or personal and family study.
- Volunteer Training Begins. Rejoice Team volunteers begin online training.
November 2026
- New Celebration Exhibits in the Church History Museum. Temple-focused exhibits will open to Salt Lake City visitors. Some experiences will be featured in online resources for the world to enjoy.
January 2027
- Primary, Youth, and YSA Events. In early 2027, the annual Friend to Friend, Worldwide Discussion for Youth, and Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults will focus on temples and rejoicing in Jesus Christ. Dates for these events to be announced.
February 2027
- In-Person Volunteer Training. The Rejoice Team meets in person to kick off in-person training for celebration events.
March 2027
- Virtual Tours Begin. People everywhere are invited to take an online tour of the Salt Lake Temple and of Temple Square. Join a planned, guided tour through the temple, or enjoy a self-directed temple exploration during a virtual online visit.
April 5, 2027 – October 1, 2027
- The Salt Lake Temple Celebration begins April 5, 2027 and lasts until October 1, 2027. We hope this period will bring light to the world as people everywhere rejoice in Christ.
- Virtual Experiences. People around the world can join the Salt Lake Temple Celebration by enjoying the Dedicate video series about temple worship; Unshaken, a film about the Salt Lake Temple renovation; Live from Temple Square broadcasts in many languages; and guided or self-directed virtual tours of the Salt Lake Temple.
- Rising Generation Celebration Events. Locally led celebrations for young people around the world will occur during the summer months. Dates and details to be announced.
- Temple Square Guest Experiences engage Salt Lake City visitors in a variety of films, tours, performances, and more. Learn more about in-person experiences.
Date to be Announced
- Salt Lake Temple Rededication. After years of renovation, this house of the Lord will be rededicated for sacred temple worship.
