The renovation of the Salt Lake Temple is nearing completion, marking a historic moment for the Church. From April 5 to October 1, 2027, members and friends worldwide are invited to participate in the Salt Lake Temple Celebration.

The Church has published a document titled “About the Salt Lake Temple Celebration,” which includes an overview of the celebration, available resources, and a link to the Salt Lake Temple Celebration Toolkit for local leaders. The toolkit includes a calendar, templates, promotional resources, activity ideas, and suggestions for incorporating the Salt Lake Temple Celebration into local meetings, devotionals, and activities.

A Virtual and In-Person Celebration

No matter where you live, you will be able to find meaningful ways to participate in the Salt Lake Temple Celebration. Throughout 2026 and 2027, local Church leaders are invited to plan events for their communities related to temples. Where possible, those activities may involve a nearby temple.

To support these local activities, Church headquarters will provide virtual experiences, such as devotional broadcasts, special videos, and a virtual tour inside the Salt Lake Temple, which will all be available in many languages. All virtual experiences, celebration information, and ticket reservations will be available on the Temple Square website. Ticket reservations for the Salt Lake Temple open house tour will become available September 1, 2026, on the site as well as the Temple Square app.

In addition, Temple Square will host live tours, performances, and guest experiences for all who can visit in person. Throughout this six-month celebration, the Salt Lake Temple open house will welcome all visitors inside this newly renovated and expanded house of the Lord.

Salt Lake Temple Celebration Toolkit

The online toolkit provides resources to help leaders and members plan for the worldwide celebration. These resources include:

• A calendar of shared events and key milestones.
• Ideas for incorporating celebration themes and experiences.
• Downloadable templates for promoting local activities.
• Information on volunteer opportunities.

You may wish to visit the toolkit frequently, as updates will be made throughout 2026 and 2027.

The Temple Square app helps in-person guests make the most of their visits by providing maps, information, and free ticketing for tours and events.
