In 2026, Easter Sunday will be observed in many parts of the world on April 5—the same weekend as the live broadcast of general conference. As such, only sacrament meeting and no other meetings should be held the previous week, on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Easter, general conference, and Palm Sunday are wonderful opportunities to commemorate the Savior’s Atonement and Resurrection. The First Presidency encourages everyone to invite friends, family, and neighbors to join in these worship services of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Messages and music for Palm Sunday should be centered on the Savior’s Atonement and Resurrection. To help create a special Easter-focused worship experience on Palm Sunday, fast and testimony meeting could be held another week.
The Church provides downloadable templates for signage and invitations to help with planning and celebrating Palm Sunday, Easter, and Holy Week. On the Easter resources page, click the download link in the section “Church Leader Resources.”
