Every year, wards, stakes, and missions are requested to submit an annual history of important events to fulfill the Lord’s mandate for the Church to keep a record and a history.
The Church has modernized the whole process to encourage leaders to submit stories throughout the year into the Unit History tool. Stories can be written by leaders serving in various ward and stake callings. The stories are then reviewed and approved by local leaders.
To read and be inspired by stories from your own ward and stake, go to UnitHistory.ChurchofJesusChrist.org. (Please note that since this process is fairly new, your ward and stake may not have published many stories yet.)
See the page Unit Histories and Annual Histories for training materials, seminar materials, and sample annual histories.
For technical help on other Church tools, see the Help Center on the Church’s website.

Somebody forgot to explain what THE UNIT TOOL is and where to find it. The LDS Unit History Tool (LDS365) is an official digital tool provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
