More LDS women than ever are volunteering for full-time missions now that the minimum age of service was lowered.
ABC News recently aired a nice report about the effectiveness of sister missionaries (see the video below).

I find it interesting that the “new face” of Mormonism is just the “old face” amplified. Not sure how many men to women are now serving missions. There were plenty of women when I went on mine.
