Mormonism, Visualized (mormonvis.com) is an interesting website created by an individual that takes basic LDS doctrines and presents them in an infographic format. It addresses the following topics:
- Who is God?
- Before you were born
- The Atonement
- Prophets
- Joseph Smith
- The Book of Mormon
Can you think of a friend who could benefit from this site?
If I were a martian who could read English and understood some basic symbolism, this is what I would learn from this website:
1. God is a shiny guy.
2. Ghosts give presents to people when they are born on earth.
3. When people interact with the justice system, out pops the god named Jesus Christ.
4. God talks to prophets. (Score 1 for the inforgraphic.)
5. Joseph Smith asked a question to two gods in a wooded area. (No, don’t score another for the infographic because this merely redundant with #4 if you don’t know either the question or the answer.)
6. The Book of Mormon has something to do with a box in Central America.
So the short answer to the question “Can you think of a friend who could benefit from this site?” is No.
OK, so it seems that there is more to the website than the six cover pages, but I can only get past them about half the time. Not good enough.
