I blogged recently about Covenant Eyes filtering and accountability software. I just watched a video about it (embedded below), and the first part of the video makes a great point: pornography is the perfect sin.
Imagine creating the perfect sin: one that would tear apart relationships, crush marriages, and destroy the spiritual strength of men. Such a devastating sin would need to be secret, easy to get, and so alluring it could become part of a secret life. This secret could draw a man away from his wife, his children, his job, and God. Then, why not make it free and even protected by the United States Constitution. Internet pornography is all of these.
Questions to consider:
- Do you know what Web sites your family is viewing?
- Are members of your family spending unusual amounts of time on the Internet?
- Do family members try to hide their Internet involvement?

We use K9 Web Protection and are quite happy with it.
“The best solution to this problem is to never get involved in the first place” I am not sure where this comment came from, but it doesn’t work anymore. Pornography can no longer just be avoided. Every child will be exposed to pornography at some point in their life. They need to be educated on what it is and how to deal with the swell of emotions / chemicals that surround it. If we continue to tell people to avoid pornography we will continue to drive those that have been exposed to it deeper and darker in their abuse of it. If you don’t have a copy yet, I would recommend you order a copy of Dr. Don L. Hilton’s book, “He Restoreth my Soul”. I believe it is the best book out there today that deals with Pornography addiction. You can order a copy by visiting http://salifeline.org/he-restoreth-my-soul-by-donald-l-hilton-jr-md/.
