If you’ve downloaded the MP3 audio files of the scriptures in the Gospel Library, you’ve probably noticed that the naming of the files don’t sort in the proper sequence to play them consecutively.
I’m happy to announce that the MP3 audio files of the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price have now been renamed (with appropriate metadata included) so they order and play in the proper sequence.
You may note that the naming of the scriptures file is an addition to the file naming conventions shown in my earlier post. The track for the scriptures is in the 2 field not the 4th. It follows the book identifier, and is before all other elements unique to the chapter. We have not padded with underlines to make the track the 4th element.
Thank You! This will make it so much nicer!
Yes, great news! That has been on my personal “to-do” list for months…
One question – I don’t see a link to download all of the OT (the NT, BoM, PGP, etc. are all there).
Is that an oversight?
Steven,
The Old Testament is on the audio page (http://lds.org/audio). It’s the first link under the heading Scriptures. When you click “Old Testment,” it takes you to a separate page where there is a zip file for each book, or links for individual chapters. We need to zip the entire OT in one file, but haven’t done that yet.
Finally. That is a great relief. I renamed all the files by hand (no auto-renamer for me!) back when the Old Testament wasn’t even available on the site. Now I’ll just re-download them all. And thanks for publishing the naming conventions. That’s a great insight.
Is there a time when the file names will be updated on the NT on OT files?
Thank you so much!! I took 8 hours one day and did all the standard works by hand (including every meta field in every file!). Thanks for the much needed update!
All the OT and NT files have also been renamed.
