Broadband usage continues to grow at unprecedented rates. See various charts showing how the US stacks up against other countries. This growth sometimes makes us assume that nearly everyone has broadband.
But remember that only half the LDS households in the USA and Canada access the Internet by modem (one quarter by cable and the other quarter by DSL). We can only guess about the access by members outside the USA and Canada, but based on statistics worldwide, it’s likely that the large majority accesses it by dial-up, and only 1% to 25% have broadband access. Older users and those in developing countries are more likely to have dial-up connections and these groups comprise important audiences for Church Web sites.
