FamilySearch experienced lots of changes in 2021. They hosted RootsTech completely virtually. It was the largest free, all-virtual genealogy conference, with over 1 million people participating from over 240 countries. FamilySearch also completed digitizing its collection of 2.4 million rolls of microfilm.

- 14.3 billion searchable names and images available from historical records
- 2.4 million rolls of microfilm digitized
- 200 million visits to FamilySearch.org
- 1 million+ participants at the first all-virtual RootsTech Connect
- 40,000 books added to the Family History Library in Salt Lake
