online-mission-calls

Latter-day Saints who are expecting a mission call will no longer have to wait for the familiar white envelope to arrive in the mail. Instead, they will be notified by email or by text message when their mission calls are available. Prospective missionaries can then access their call letter online immediately with a smartphone, tablet, or computer. This process will speed up the receipt of mission calls by several weeks.

All this begins September 6, 2018, for young women, young men, senior couples, and senior sisters whose missionary recommendations were submitted from stakes in Utah and Idaho. The following additional areas have now been added:

  • October 18, 2018: All stakes in the United States and Canada.
  • November 13, 2018:  Brazil, Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, South America Northwest, and South America South Areas.
  • December 11, 2018: Africa Southeast, Africa West, Asia, Asia North, Europe, Europe East, Middle East/Africa North, Pacific, and Philippines Areas.
  • Other locations will be rolled out through the end of 2018.

Before viewing the letter, missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be notified that they are about to open their call letter and learn their assignment. This will give them the opportunity before opening the letter to gather together family and friends to participate in the experience. Missionaries will still be able to print and download call letters and related materials for their personal records.
