I just downloaded the LDS Scripture Mastery application for my iPad (also works on iPhone). It’s a great little app released by the Church to help you memorize scripture mastery verses as well as the Articles of Faith. To download it, go to the App Store and search for “lds scripture mastery.”
Chad Ward generously donated the code for a memorization app he had developed, and with the help of others at tech.lds.org it became the LDS Scripture Mastery App.
The Church hopes to expand this app to include other features and make it available for other devices. If you would like to suggest other features, please comment below. To help contribute technical skills to the project please visit tech.lds.org and join the project named LDS Scripture Mastery Application iOS.
See information about version 2.0.
Thanks so much for sharing this new app! It’s an amazing tool. I can’t wait to see what is done to improve it further!
It would be great to have this app available for the Kindle Fire…is that possibly in works? 🙂
Connie, there are no immediate plans, but there is more discussion lately about Kindle.
I love the Scripture Mastery app. It makes memorization very easy. I am hoping you might add a feature allowing users to select scriptures other than the 100 seminary scriptures. Some scriptures have deep personal meaning. An app like this would be helpful in memorizing them also.
thanks,

Rick, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll pass it along to the folks who created this app.
For those interested in a more flexible memorization app check out Evernote Peek:

You can add your own scriptures and it works with the iPad cover.
In Spanish Scripture Mastery app, mistake under 1 Nephi 19:23. The text for 1Nephi 19:24 is there instead. Can you pass that along to the right person, Larry? Thanks.
