Thousands of people work tirelessly to help share the messages of Jesus Christ and His gospel through one of the largest broadcasts in the world. Who are the people behind the scenes, and what is their story? Church photographers play an important role in capturing and sharing the moments, people, and stories of general conference.
With tens of thousands of photographs taken during each general conference, capturing the right moment takes more than a camera. Church photographers work long hours to document general conference in Salt Lake City and the lives of Latter-day Saints around the world. From photographing Church leaders and new temples to documenting humanitarian efforts, cultural traditions, and everyday acts of faith, these photographers help preserve the stories of the Saints and record Church history for future generations.
In this episode, discover what goes into photographing general conference and meet the people who make it happen. Photographers arrive early, stay late, and work within a tight schedule to capture and deliver thousands of images while general conference is happening. Church photographers take tens of thousands of photographs during the conference weekend, while teams behind the scenes organize, catalog, and distribute the images.
