The Church has published a calendar of events and broadcasts for 2027.

January

• Come, Follow Me New Testament Study Begins. Also beginning in January are fast-Sunday lessons for Primary, which can be found at the end of the Come, Follow Me resource. See details about the Curriculum for 2027.
• January 16: “Rejoice in Christ” Worldwide Discussion for Youth. This video includes messages from a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and other Church leaders to help young people better understand the 2027 youth theme, “Rejoice in Christ” (see Philippians 4:4). It becomes available on January 16 in the Gospel Library and at ChurchofJesusChrist.org and may be used anytime after release. Leaders may schedule this event for a Sunday meeting, weekday activity, devotional, youth conference, or camp.

February

• February 7: Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults. Young adults around the world are invited to gather in local units or at institute to watch this devotional featuring Elder Ronald A. Rasband. Watch live at 6:00 p.m. MST in the Americas and on February 14, 2027, in other areas of the world.

March

• March 4: Temple and Family History Leadership Instruction. This 30-minute prerecorded training from General Church leaders helps local councils and leaders understand their temple and family history responsibilities in helping to unite families for eternity. A discussion guide will be available to assist leaders in implementing the principles locally.
• March 4–6: RootsTech. All are invited to this celebration of family connection online at RootsTech.org and in person in Salt Lake City, Utah. Learn how to unite families for eternity and discover your family stories. Live and prerecorded sessions will be available beginning March 4.
• March 6: Family Discovery Day. All members are invited to hear from an Apostle during a broadcast celebrating family discovery and uniting families for eternity. Watch live at 1:30 p.m. MST or on demand.
• March 6: Worldwide Relief Society Devotional. Women around the world are invited to gather to hear from Elder David A. Bednar and President Camille N. Johnson, Sister J. Anette Dennis, and Sister Kristin M. Yee of the Relief Society General Presidency. The broadcast will be available March 6 in the Gospel Library and at ChurchofJesusChrist.org and can be used at any time thereafter, especially in conjunction with celebration of the anniversary of the organization of the Relief Society on March 17. For: All women, including young women turning 18 in 2027
• March 21–28: Holy Week and Easter Sunday. Beginning with Palm Sunday on March 21, all are invited to reflect on the Atonement of Jesus Christ and His great love as we prepare to commemorate His Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Resources to help with planning and celebrating are available at Easter.ChurchofJesusChrist.org. Leaders may consider Christ-centered Easter traditions, Holy Week study resources, and invitations to join Palm Sunday and Easter worship. To celebrate Easter Sunday on March 28, leaders should plan a special sacrament meeting with talks and music focused on the Savior and invite friends and family to worship. Other meetings are not held this day, though wards are welcome to hold social gatherings (see General Handbook, 29.2.9).

April

• April 3–4: General Conference. All are invited to hear from prophets, apostles, and Church leaders during live sessions of the annual general conference. Live sessions on April 3 and 4 are held at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. MDT. Recordings of conference sessions will be available on conference.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and the Gospel Library for on-demand viewing and listening.
• April 5–OCTOBER 1: Salt Lake Temple Celebration. All are invited to tour the newly renovated Salt Lake Temple and learn more about Jesus Christ and His Church through experiences on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah, and virtually. On April 10, all are invited to tune in for an opening event with music and performances aimed at helping participants rejoice in Christ. Leaders may consider how to use resources like TempleSquare.org and the Salt Lake Temple Celebration Toolkit, as well as local invitations or teaching opportunities related to temples and covenants.

May

• May–October: Live from Temple Square. These events, with timing varying depending on each area, will connect the Salt Lake Temple Celebration with global member audiences through live broadcasts featuring local area hosts and native-language sister missionaries on Temple Square. These events will make the global significance of temples personal and relevant to local communities by highlighting how members in different countries are celebrating and experiencing temples and faith in Jesus Christ.
• May 2: Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults. Young adults around the world are invited to join in local units or at institute to watch this devotional featuring a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Watch live at 6:00 p.m. MDT in the Americas and on May 9, 2027, in other areas of the world.
• Mar 22: Friend to Friend Video for Children. A member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and the Primary General Presidency will share messages for children. For: Primary-age children and their leaders, teachers, and parents. Primary presidencies, teachers, and parents may decide whether and when to use the video. It can be used at home and as a resource for a Primary activity or Sunday lesson to help children better understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.

June

• June 10–11: Religious Educators Conference. This broadcast provides guidance on how to improve teaching to youth and young adults that fosters greater faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Watch live or on demand. For Church Educational System (CES) religious educators and seminary and institute volunteers and employees

July and August

• There are no Churchwide events, broadcasts, or action items scheduled for July or August.

September

• September–December: Tithing Declaration. Bishops counsel with ward members about the blessings of paying tithing and give them a chance to declare faithfulness to this principle.
• September 4: Friend to Friend Video for Children. A member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and the Primary General Presidency will share messages for children. For: Primary-age children and their leaders, teachers, and parents. Primary presidencies, teachers, and parents may decide whether and when to use the video. It can be used at home and as a resource for a Primary activity or Sunday lesson to help children better understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.

October

• October: Salt Lake Temple Celebration Closing Event. All are invited to watch a global broadcast featuring Church leaders to commemorate the end of the Salt Lake Temple Celebration and the resuming of sacred ordinances following the temple rededication. The website TempleSquare.org is also available as a resource to use and invite others to participate in the event. Leaders would invite members and friends as appropriate and consider how this event can support local teaching about the temple and Jesus Christ.
• October 2–3: General Conference. All are invited to hear from prophets, apostles, and Church leaders during live sessions of the annual general conference. Live sessions on October 2 and 3 are held at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. MDT. Recordings of conference sessions will be available on conference.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and the Gospel Library for on-demand viewing and listening.

November

• November 7: Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults. Young adults around the world are invited to join in local units or at institute to watch this devotional featuring a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Watch live at 6:00 p.m. MDT in the Americas and on November 14, 2027, in other areas of the world.

December

• December 1–25: Christmas Season. The month of December provides a natural opportunity to teach and testify about the birth of Jesus Christ. Consider using the resources on Christmas.ChurchofJesusChrist.org to plan services and activities centered on the Savior that would be welcoming to all in your community.
• December 5: First Presidency’s Christmas Devotional. The First Presidency invites General Authorities and General Officers to speak in this devotional focused on the birth of Jesus Christ at the start of the Christmas season. The devotional will be broadcast on the Church satellite system, ChurchofJesusChrist.org, the Gospel Library, and other media. It can also be recorded or downloaded to view at a later time.
• December 19 or 26: Special Christmas Sacrament Meeting. All wards and branches are invited to hold a special sacrament meeting focused on the birth of the Savior on a Sunday near Christmas. All are welcome to worship. Other meetings are not held this day, though wards are welcome to hold social gatherings (see General Handbook, 29.2.9).

Other Meetings, Activities, and Action Items

The following are additional meetings and action items that leaders should plan.

Primary and Youth Age-Group Progression

With the approach of a new year, youth leaders and Primary presidencies are invited to review and complete key tasks to help prepare children and youth for a spiritually enriching year.

• Baptism and Confirmation Preparation Meeting: Near the beginning of the year, the Primary presidency, with direction from the bishopric, plans a meeting for children in the Valiant 7 class and their parents and teachers (see General Handbook, 12.1.8). These children should also be invited to begin attending Valiant activities (see 12.2.1.3).
• Introduce the Children and Youth program to children turning 8 this year and their parents (see 12.5.7).
• Temple and Priesthood Preparation Meeting: The Primary presidency, with direction from the bishopric, plans this meeting each year for children in the Valiant 10 class and their parents (see 12.1.7).
• Primary Advancement Interviews: A member of the bishopric interviews each child who will be advancing from Primary (see 31.3) and could also include the temple recommend interview (see 26.3.3).
• Priesthood Ordination Interviews: A member of the bishopric meets with all young men who are eligible to be ordained to a priesthood office (those turning 12, 14, or 16 in the coming year). Schedule ordinations for anytime after January 1 (see 18.10.2–18.10.3).
• Temple Recommend Interviews: Bishoprics identify youth who will need a new or renewed temple recommend in January and schedule interview appointments (see 26.4.1).
• Organize Age-Groups, Quorums, and Sunday School Classes: Bishoprics, Young Women presidencies, and Sunday School presidencies organize children and youth into the appropriate quorums, age-groups, and classes (see 10.1.3, 11.1.3, 12.1.4, 13.3). Organize new presidencies, if needed (see 10.1.3, 10.4, 11.1.3, 11.3.4).
• Hold a meeting for youth and parents and welcome and recognize new youth (see 10.2.1.3 and 11.2.1.3).
• Ministering Assignments: Youth may receive ministering assignments beginning the year they turn 14 (see 21.2.2).

Primary Meetings and Activities

• Primary Service Activity: Plan opportunities for children to serve, invite friends, and build belonging (see 12.2.1.3).
• Primary Sacrament Meeting Presentation: Later in the year, children present what they have been learning at home and at church (see 12.1.6).

Youth Activities

In addition to regular activities, youth may also participate in the following activities in 2027, including annual events (see 10.2.1.3 and 11.2.1.3).

• 2027 Salt Lake Temple Celebration—Worldwide Youth Music Devotional: Youth around the world are invited to participate in this special youth music devotional planned and carried out in local units. Resources will be available to leaders by the end of 2026, and this event can be planned for anytime in 2027. Youth should also be invited to help plan the devotional.
• Youth Camps: Reserve dates, locations, adult leaders, and youth planning opportunities early. See Young Women Camp Guide and Aaronic Priesthood Quorum Camp Guide. In the United States and Canada, Church camp reservations open each November for the following year at camping.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
• For the Strength of Youth (FSY) Conferences: Visit the FSY website or speak with a local leader to see if FSY is scheduled for your unit in 2027.
• Youth Conference: Wards or stakes hold a youth conference during years they are not assigned to attend FSY conferences (see 20.4).
• For the Strength of Youth Activity: Consider at least one activity or discussion that helps youth apply principles in For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices.
• Youth Music Experiences: Local units and areas are invited to plan an in-person music experience such as a concert, music devotional, or faith walk that supports the annual youth theme. Resources can be found at youth.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

Gospel Learning and Teaching

• Teacher Council Meetings: Ward councils oversee and schedule these meetings monthly during class time on Sunday (see 17.4).
• Teacher Council Meetings for Parents: The ward council may organize these meetings to help parents improve gospel teaching in the home (see 17.5).
• Gospel Foundations Class: Ward councils may organize this optional adult Sunday School class for new members, returning members, and friends of other faiths as needed (see course curriculum).

Fifth Sundays in 2027

• January 31, May 30, August 29, and October 31: Sunday School classes proceed as usual on fifth Sundays, but instead of Relief Society, Young Women, and priesthood meetings, the bishopric determines topics and teachers for youth and adults. The bishopric also determines whether youth and adults, male and female, meet separately or together (see 29.2.8).
