We have added titles and thumbnail pulpit shots to all English MP3s of general conference. All users downloading or streaming MP3files after 10:00 am this morning will receive the updated metadata in the MP3 files.

Brilliant!
I have been adding them myself, and your doing this saves me a lot of time.
An additional suggestion: Add text of talk itself in MP3 file as well.
I am so grateful for all you and your colleagues do.
Best regards,
Christian
P.S. I am just curious. How come MP3s of Priesthood session are never posted?
Thanks!
Text of the talk (lyrics) would be nice, but I don’t think it would be used very often. Is it worth the increased size? Those with flash based players may not think so. This should be discussed more.

thumbnail pulpit shots? I don’t see them…
This is great – thanks for continuing to improve the General Conference materials.
I’m wondering the same thing as Dustin….why are ASL videos of priesthood session posted, but no other media formats? I understand that it’s best that we attend priesthood meeting in person, but the same goes for all the other sessions of conference and they’re available online. I’m grateful to have the text of the session available for study, but it would be helpful to have audio/video files too.
OK, I get it now. Images of the speaker (not a hardward speakear as I invisioned) shows up in iTunes or on the iPod when listening to the MP3. That’s cool. Thanks.
As far as the priesthood session, I saw a comment of an archive post that explains that the church likes to keep the priesthood session a little less public. I can accept that I guess. I don’t understand the difference of having streaming ASL video and regular streaming video (without the sign language). It would just be nice to have access to the MP3 versions as well – maybe via downloading after we ender our logins to your ward websites?
BTW, Hi Jeremy! How are things going?
If the brethren want the priesthood session to be a little less public as Dustin mentioned, I guess I can live with that. I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask.
Dustin – things are good, and we sure miss having you in the ward. Glad to see all the cool stuff you’re up to on the web. Keep up the good work.
I know that this is a little bit off topic, but I am curious, is it me or are the MP3 files larger than last Conference. I have a small MP3 player, and I had to delete a lot of my music to fit the entire conference on (replacing the Apr 2006 Conference).
So, a lot has changed since 2006. I am trying to find out if you can search just the MP3 files by speaker, topic, etc., on any site. So, for example, I could download a bunch of talks about priesthood or marriage, or I could easily find and download everything by Elder Oaks. Seems like it would be easy enough to index them, but I thought I would ask first. Nothing comes up on a google search.
Jeremy, there are no current plans to add a search of the MP3. You can search the text by speaker, topic, etc., then download the MP3.
