Just last week, some returned LDS missionaries who are students at BYU posted a video parody of Adele’s song “Hello” set to a theme of Mormon missionaries sharing the gospel. Yesterday, the video Adele “Hello” Mormon Missionary Parody Video passed one million views.
BYU students Marcus Joseph and Korey Smith wrote, produced, and directed the video. Parker Cressman is the lead singer in the video. The other missionary in the video is Conner Hein. The missionaries in the video are not current missionaries, but have previously served LDS missions.
- Marcus Joseph is a music video director and music producer from Northern Virginia.
- Korey Smith is a Hurdler on the BYU track team from Roseburg, Oregon, majoring in urban planning. He also hosts live events & parties in Provo, Utah.
- Parker Cressman is a clinical research assistant and was previously on the BYU track team.
- Conner Hein is a student at BYU.
Quickly, the video gained attention on local news and even got international attention. There is also a version of the video with Spanish subtitles.

I was a little disappointed with this video – it felt empty, from a doctrinal standpoint. It seems like two people desperate trying to spread a cult about Joseph Smith and Nephites – more along the lines of the Book of Mormon musical – as opposed to two men of faith inviting others to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ wasn’t even mentioned in the video, which is the purpose and heart of missionary work. It gives a false impression to those who aren’t familiar with the Church and the purpose of missionary work, and with 1 million views, it’s sad that this message didn’t get across to everyone who saw it. It’s creative for sure, just disappointing.
Well guys. I thought this was great!!! Funny, entertaining, moving……laughed till I cried!!!! I wish I knew how to share it from here!
Hey this video made me laugh and it’s well done.
Don’t let the hypercritical people bash you on something they could not do themselves.
The reactions to being welcomed into the house were great! What a fun video and real to many LDS struggles as a missionary!
Epic!!!
