The Daily Herald wrote:
> “The first version of LDS.org, Richman’s “four or five static pages,” went up in 1994, when the World Wide Web was only just beginning to seep into the public consciousness. The site was largely unchanged until 1998, when a number of small, mostly cosmetic tweaks were applied.”
I remember checking http://lds.org at least once a month in the middle 90’s and there was only 1 page there until February 1997. There was only 1 page, before Feb. 97 not 4 or 5 like the article says. This is at least the second time I’ve read that misstatement.
You can check online backups to verify that my memory is correct.
Go to http://archive.org and search.
You’ll find (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://lds.org ) that there was only a place holder page in 96 and before.
I hope that Richman or whoever the PR people are will correct themselves.
