In his General Conference address “The Hearts of the Children Shall Turn,” Elder David A. Bednar invited the young people of the Church to learn about and experience the Spirit of Elijah. He said
Parents and leaders, please help your children and youth to learn about and experience the Spirit of Elijah. But do not overly program this endeavor or provide too much detailed information or training. Invite young people to explore, to experiment, and to learn for themselves (see Joseph Smith—History 1:20). Any young person can do what I am suggesting, using the modules available at lds.org/familyhistoryyouth.
An introductory video is also available on the new website, which is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. What young person can you encourage to go to this website, explore, and experience the Spirit of Elijah?

I am a Family History Consultant at a local center. We work with Youth many times during the year. I love this site and appreciate the valuable resources that are growing and available for the Youth, Youth Leaders and Family History Consultants. Thanks!
Though only a youth at heart, Elder Bednar’s talk spurred me into action to pick up where the other members of my family have left off. In fact, I am so excited about the technology available that I volunteered to work with the youth in my ward. My offer has been accepted and I now eagerly wait for the date to be set for this class.
I checked out the link lds.org/familyhistoryyouth. Under the tab “Discover” the information and instructions are on using new.familysearch.
I realize that FamilySearch Family Tree is still in beta, however when people see that they can find a record and link it to their family member it puts turning the hearts of the children to their fathers in a whole new light.
Maybe some of these youth need to be involved in the development of the family history site for youth.
