LDS Music is a new mobile app for music of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It lets you browse and search Hymns and the Children’s Songbook, read the words and sheet music, and listen to accompaniments. Now, you can access the words, music, and audio with your mobile device and not just on the web at music.lds.org.

Editor’s Note (3/9/19): The name of the app has now been changed to Sacred Music.

Download the app for the iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

This first release has only the basics of what the development team would like to do. Future plans for the application include adding music from Seminary video soundtracks and Young Women camp songs, incorporating new features like playlists and audio controls, and making the application available in several languages, starting with Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

To make these plans happen, the team needs help from the community to extract the words of the songs in Spanish, French, and Portuguese from PDFs. The work doesn’t require high technical skill, it just takes time. If you’re interested in participating in this project, join the project on LDSTech by signing to the site, clicking Projects in the top navigation bar, clicking the LDS Music for iPhone/iPad project, and then clicking Join.

You can learn more about this mobile app, as well as other LDS art and hymns projects on the LDS Tech website.
