The RootsMapper web application helps you visualize the origins of your ancestors and see how they migrated.
When you enter your FamilySearch log-in, it accesses the FamilySearch database, and then uses Google Maps to plot the birth place of your ancestors up to 7 generations.
The numbers on the dots represent how many generations away each ancestor is from you, with a blue dot indicating males and pink dots indicating females. Each dot can be expanded to show information about that family member. It gives an interesting perspective of your ancestors.
This application is not yet certified by FamilySearch.org certification, but they expect it soon.

Cool.
This is great — I am really impressed !!!!! The zoom-in feature gets me in closer, but I have not found the zoom-out, yet — can someone help??
I finally found the zoom slider in the lower left-hand corner. Good !!!
Phil, if you are on a computer with a mouse that has a scroll button on it, you can use the scroll button to zoom in and out.
