We’ve told you about the new LDS.org site that has been available to visit since mid September.
As of November 30, this new site will become the official LDS.org. We invite you again to review the new.lds.org site to become familiar with the content available. Read our earlier post for a good overview of new.lds.org.
You can also watch several short videos that introduce the new tools and functionality of the new site.
After November 30, the Church will still provide a way to reach the content on the old LDS.org site. Also, since several areas of the new LDS.org site are still being built, in those areas, there will be links back to the content on the “classic” site.
Any word on when the additional areas of new.lds.org are going to be live? The Family section, most of the Service section, and the Media Library?
Cheers.
They’re writing the Family section and the serving in the church section now. The media library should be up sooner.
what can you do now on the new stake directory?
As an admin I don’t see anyway yet to do anything
Only add your family photos
Can add or delete from the Stake and ward directory ?
Sharon
Sharon,
Admins have the following rights in the new online Directory:
1. They can approve photos submitted by other members. Users can upload their own family and personal photos, but those photos are not viewable by other members of their ward/stake until an admin approves the photo.
2. They can opt in/out other users. If a ward member asks the admin (offline) to have their household info opted out, the admin can do that for them so that other members of the ward/stake won’t see their household info.
3. They can bulk upload photos. This way, if a ward has a clerk or someone take photos of families and individuals, an admin can upload them & associate them to the profiles of those people
4. They can view info of opted-out households (similar to what leaders can see in MLS).
5. They will soon have rights to send bulk emails to larger groups of users than non-admins can send to
All the other functions can still be done at ward.lds.org or through MLS.
